Reversing the Stigma: What is Hemp?

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word hemp? Many would say "weed", "drugs", "marijuana".  Well actually, hemp and marijauna are slightly different; they are both varieties of the Cannabis plant but are used for very different purposes.  Hemp has been known to be a very resourceful plant, and can be made into over 25,000 products.  Marijuana has been known to be used for medicinal and recreational purposes.  If you were to smoke hemp you would not get high (the amount of THC in the hemp plant is little to none)!

In the US specifically, hemp is federally banned and classified as a narcotic.  Slowly, laws are becoming more lenient across the states, as some of the states are beginning to legalize the growth of hemp for industrial purposes.  Having hemp legal across the US would help our environment in so many ways and give us great products in the form of clothing, paper, oil etc.  Help Superego spread the message of hemp and its many benefits!
