These are words from Nestlé CEO Mark Schneider, and they are powerful indeed. Having 100% recyclable or reusable packaging within 5 years is an amazing yet lofty goal. It seems as if Nestlé is already starting to attack this goal though. They have revealed a new type of packaging for their Mini Kit-Kats. Instead of the traditional plastic packaging, they have replaced it with origami paper. Once the customer is done eating the chocolate they can use the packaging to make a paper origami crane. This new origami packaging will debut first in Japan this month. Although this may seem like just a small step in the right direction, this small change is predicted to bring the company's plastic use down by 380 tons per year. We love to see this trend of major companies pledging to become more sustainable. With efforts like these, plastic pollution can be slowed significantly!
