Ben Horowitz and the Blind Def Crew

Hip-Hop is a part of the American cultural fabric. What you might not have known is that legendary businessman and investor, Ben Horowitz, the man behind some of the digital age's greatest successes: Facebook, Foursquare, GitHub, Pinterest, and Twitter not only applies rap lyrics to his life but has actually had dreams of the big stage himself growing up.

With his book The Hard Thing About Hard Things: Building a Business When There Are No Easy Answers releasing tomorrow on March 4th, Ben Horowitz left us with a story on his personal blog that details his upbringing with childhood friend, Seth Clark who was blinded by a shotgun to the face and how they found hope and inspiration in living and loving Hip-Hop.

"Within the context of the blindness, it was like there were two possible views of life: Either life was horrible and tragic or life was extremely brutal, but you had to embrace it—you had to be in the game. We chose the Hip Hop way; we chose the latter."
