Last Remaining Hand Maker of Scissors

The world is infatuated with the heroes that go at it alone, the risk takers who can create magic out of nothing. Nowadays, the focus is on the tech smart kids who add to the world with simple keystrokes. Yet, only a century ago, many of the machine manufactured products we use everyday, were painfully crafted by hand by masters of the trade. As the world of handmakers slowly dwindles, the process they go about it continues to leave us in awe.

This is where Cliff Denton of Ernest Wright & Sons who is the subject of "The Putter," the short film below which profiles his metal-craft genius. The product he works on is so simple: a pair of scissors. Yet, the manipulation of the metals and human hustle is what captures our attention.
