If the word Alphasphere sounds foreign to you, its for good reason. It is a fairly new instrument that was introduced in 2013. Alphasphere is programmable, electronic instrument that is pressure sensitive. Each pad on the instrument can be assigned a specific sound and the pressure sensitivity can mold and change the sound as well. Think of the Alphasphere as a modernized version of the MPC (Music Production Controller). It's a unique looking instrument, but I'm curious to see how it will be used in the coming years and if major artists will start incorporating it.
