We all know the saying "a picture is worth a 1000 words". Well "Poems in Poets" is a portrait series that actualizes this concept. Phil Hansen recognizes that certain words and phrases can bring up memories of certain people and he wanted to visualize that experience. He decided to use a typewriter to type spaced out lyrics that create a portrait of the person that actually created those lyrics. The portrait series contains 4 people so far; Edgar Allen Poe, Walt Whitman, Bob Dylan, and Kendrick Lamar. The simple yet complex portraits are a perfect example of how poems are quite literally, art. Check out the short video below to see the portraits.
