YMCMB vs The ROC : The Beef History

If you haven't been paying close attention to rap music for the past few years you may have missed all the subtle jabs that Young Money has been throwing at "The Throne".  You may have also missed the return shots thrown back to YMCMB by Jay-Z and Kanye.  So we did you the favor of mapping out the history of beef between these two powerhouses of rap music.

It all started when Drake went on air and seemingly suggests that Jay-z and Kanye's Watch the Throne album was a bite from the joint album he and Weezy were working on... (starts at 2:30)...

After that, Lil Wayne threw another little diss towards the throne after a Young Money performance. He says "I met a red-bone, I took the girl home/I asked her what she wanna watch, she said, 'surely not The Throne" ...

Birdman also subtly dissed Jay-z, this time calling Wayne a better rapper and money-maker...

Jay-z the man of few words, finally responds to YMCMB and Birdman's claims...

It didn't stop there though! Lil Wayne and Jay-z both exchanged some words on their latest albums ....

Seems like Drake couldn't keep his mouth shut either, more recently in a magazine interview with Rolling Stone he was quoted saying,

"It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references"

... Well Jay-z didn't take too kindly of that, in his latest release with Jay Electronica he says

"Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk, Silly me for rappin bout shit that I really bought. While these rappers rap about guns that they ain't shot. And a bunch of other silly shit that they ain't got."

Seems like this ongoing feud is nowhere near an end.  I just wish the disses would be more blatant. Let's bring it back to the Ether days!
