Blind Man and Double Amputee Have Planted Over 10,000 Trees

"I am his hands, he is my eyes"

A blind man named Jia Haixia and a double amputee with no arms named Jia Wenqi, have dedicated over 10 years of their lives to replanting trees around Yeli Village in northeastern China.

Haixia was born blind in one eye and lost the other in 2000 due to a work injury. Wenqi lost both of his arms in an accident when he was only 3 years old. Over time they’ve leased 8 acres of land from the government and have begun replanting the land with trees to protect the Yeli village from flooding.  Despite their disabilities they make a great tree planting team.  It just shows that when you are determined to do something, nothing can stop you.
