Many huge companies, especially in the sportswear industry, use polyester as a main source of fabric; this is because the material is light and dries quickly. Adidas just pledged today, however, that they will only be using recycled plastics (including polyester) in their products by 2024. Adidas has done collaborations and exclusive recycled plastic lines as of recently, but this announcement is obviously a major sustainable step for the company.
