Industrial Hemp is Coming to Arizona

In 1937, the cultivation of all cannabis plants (including hemp) was outlawed in the states. In the past decade however, there have been leaps and bounds made when it comes to the legalization of marijuana and hemp. Hemp specifically is becoming more legal state-by-state. The cultivation of hemp is something that could change a lot of things across the country, considering so many products can be made from the useful and sustainable plant. This week Arizona launched a pilot program which legalized the cultivation of industrial hemp.  What this means is that universities can produce hemp and farmers can farm and sell it on a large scale.  Although this pilot program is short term and has an end date, this makes Arizona the 39th state to legalize hemp. Stay tuned for more hemp news and updates on the legality of hemp!
